Memorial Services for Mrs. Geraldine Best Owens, 89 of Fruithurst will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 2PM at the Fruithurst Baptist Church.
Geraldine was born on June 18, 1933 to Liuette and Carrie Best in Georgia and has been a resident of Fruithurst for many years. She has the privilege of being the Mayor of Fruithurst in 1982. Geraldine was a Master Gardner, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. She retired from teaching after 34 years in the public school systems in Alabama and Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, James Claborne Owens; her son Clay (Lorrie) Owens, grandchildren, Caleb Foshee (Merissa), Mollie Corley (Justin), Noah Hulsey; her great-grandchildren, Layton and Grayson Foshee, and Archer Corley.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lieuette and Carrie Best, her daughter Beth Foshee, and her brothers Adger Best and Auburne Lieuette Best.
