Faye Elizabeth Williams Predmore, 90, of Florence, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at home. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Shawn Patton Williams; her parents, Alfred “Alf” Stancil and Ruby Williams Mitchell; her adored Aunt Lola Williams Frame; siblings Buddy Stancil and Thelma Bryant; and dear cousin, Fay Stancil. She is survived by her children, Michael Predmore, Patrice Predmore Crosby, and Kimberly Predmore; grandchildren, Matthew Predmore, Meryl Wideman, Nigel Predmore, Veronica Predmore, Craig Williams, Ashlea Gregory, Blake Gelder, Nicholas Mcintrye, and Scout McIntyre; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was a member of Harrison Chapel FUMC. Faye worked as the central receptionist / switchboard operator for over 30 years at the International Fertilizer and Development Center (IFDC) in Muscle Shoals, where she retired in 1998.
“Peggy”, as she was lovingly called, possessed a timeless southern style, quick wit, and a sassy sense of humor. She was loved by all who knew her, the most precious mother to her children and a doting grandmother. She had two lifelong best friends – James Brown “Chubby” Stewart, Jr. and Dorothy E Gist.
The last 5 years of her life, due to an extended illness, Faye was homebound. Her daughter Patrice and husband, Kevin cared for her every step of the way. With the support of Faye’s granddaughters Ashlea and Blake, and caregiver, Mary Britnell (who has become a part of our family), Faye was able to live out her last years comfortably at home.
A special thank you to Beth Raper, CRNP at Express Med in Florence, Preferred Hospice staff including nurses Jamie and Shelby, aide Marquita, chaplain Chance, and social worker, Ashley.
A private family service will be held, presided over by Faye’s cousin, Brother Sonny Owens.
