MONTGOMERY-After meeting for more than eight hours on Wednesday, April 5 the Alabama Ethics Commission found probable cause that Governor Robert Bentley violated ethics laws.
The Alabama Ethics Commission held a closed-door executive meeting which convened at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. They remained in executive session until about 7 p.m. The Commission voted probable cause on all four charges against the Governor. The Commission cited four separate complaints, including ethics violations for use of personnel and materials under his control and campaign finance violations for use of money and when he reported a contribution to his campaign.
The Commission will be referring the charges to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for prosecution.
