Mr. Derek Vincent Lane, age 56 of Athens, AL passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Mr. Lane was born on July 21, 1962 in Clinton, TN to Elmer Lane and Margaret Owens Lane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lorna Oerther and Sandy Willoughby.
Mr. Lane is survived by his son, Alex Lane of Florence, AL and his mother, Lynn Lane of Athens, AL; sisters, Sister Mary Reginald Lane of Nashville, TN, Ruth Littlejohn of Clinton, TN, Una York of Clinton, TN and Nona Lovell of Columbia, TN; brothers, John Lane (Jane) of Clinton, TN, Elmer Lane (Kathy) of Maryville, TN, Leo Lane of Temple, TX, and Thomas Lane of Clinton, Tn.
Mr. Lane attended the St. Paul’s Catholic Church. He was a homebuilder. Mr. Lane was a Tennessee Vols football fan and an avid fisherman and golfer.
Services for Mr. Lane will be at 7:00PM on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM prior to the service. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
