Charles Hoyt Blevins was born on March 24, 1942, in Jackson Co., Alabama. Raised as a Southern Baptist, Charles eventually became a member of the Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He loved talking to friends and seldom met strangers. “Have a good day and a better tomorrow,” would usually finish his conversations. A man that believed it didn’t matter where you came from, it is where you are going, was always ready to lend a helping hand. Charles retired as a machinist at Arnold Air Force Base (AEDC) and throughout his career he was also associated with Wilton Manufacturing, SESSCO and Genesco. Known by his family as a “Jack of all trades,” he also cattle farmed and refurbished homes for rental property. His passions in his younger years included water skiing, hunting, fishing and fabricating cars and dune buggies. Four-wheeling in the mountains and 10-mile bike rides were also activities that he enjoyed. He also loved visiting with his elders, cherishing the knowledge they passed along. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Mantooth Limbaugh and Chester Conley Limbaugh; and Marvin Clark, who played a significant part in his life during his teenage years. He was also preceded by his mother and father-in-law Ruby Floyd Denney and Jack Denney. Also preceding were sisters and brothers-in-laws Marie (Lee) Earp, Lee Pinnell and Marvin Clark and niece Renee Pinnell. Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years Helen Denney Blevins; and their son Troy (Rhonda) Blevins. Also surviving is his granddaughter, Heather Welch; great grandchildren Levi and Lexi Grigsby; brother, James (Jerry) Blevins; sister-in-law Betty Pinnell; brothers-in-law Don and Roy Denney; along with a host of nieces and nephew. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery. Watson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 405 Sharp Springs Road, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2345
