She was a member of Eva Baptist Church for nearly 68 years where she served as the only piano player for many years until some of the younger members learned to play.

She knew and was loved by a lot of people from her time as Office Manager for Abercombie Chevrolet. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

She was one of Eva’s first volunteer librarians and was present with city clerk Bonnie Holmes, when the bookmobile rolled into the parking lot of city hall for the first time. She remained involved with the library in some capacity until her health curtailed her activity. She was a member of Eva Art Guild and Genealogy group at the library. She loved to play the piano and sing. She also wrote songs. Sacred Harp singing was her favorite.
