Bonnie Shelby was born on October 27, 1923 in Savannah , Tennessee to Thomas Oscar and Esther Lee Gean Shelby. She passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah.
Ms. Shelby was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glenn Shelby, Vernon Shelby, Oliver Shelby, Bruce Shelby; and sisters, Inez Hardin and Lorraine Carr. She is survived by one sister, Robbie Weatherford of Clinton, Tennessee and one sister-in-law, Margarete Shelby of Spanish Fort, Alabama. Also surviving are twenty-six nieces and nephews who enjoyed spending time with their very special “Aunt Bonnie”.
Ms. Shelby was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Savannah and supported her church faithfully through attendance and participation in many areas of service throughout the years. She retired from her occupation as a bank teller after more than twenty years at a local bank.
