Billy Harris Clayton was born September 11, 1930 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Albert Harrison and May Hassie Mitchell Clayton.
He was united in marriage to Mary Angevine in 1973.
Mr. Clayton attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the McNairy Community when he lived in Tennessee. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.
Mr. Clayton departed this life on December 31, 2022 in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 92 Years, 3 Months, 20 Days. He is survived by his wife Mary Clayton of Paragould, AR; daughter, Brenda Barnes; three stepsons, Wayne Sluder and wife Becky, Bert Sluder and wife Ruth Ann, Carl Sluder; stepdaughter, Debbie Cates; 2 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother, John David Clayton and wife Frances; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Collie, Willie Albert Garner, Jewell Lynch, Anna Anderson; three brothers, Murray, Hoyt, and Gayle Clayton.
