Barry Lee, age 84, of Rogersville, passed away on Thursday, October 9, at Huntsville Hospital.
Born on May 2, 1941, in North Carolina, Barry later made Rogersville, Alabama his home. There, he began a distinguished 42-year career as a computer programmer, working with NASA and various Boeing contractors. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Barry faithfully served his church for many years as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and treasurer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Sybil Lee; his sister, Margaret Lee; and his brother, Sammy Lee.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Amy Lee and Allison (Burt) Griggs; and his cherished grandchildren Emily, Jackson, Laura, and Hudson Griggs. He is also survived by his sister, Roseanne (Don) Williamson, along with numerous nieces and nephews — all of whom he loved deeply and was incredibly proud of.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rogersville, with the funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Civitan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Kelley, Morris McKee, Lynn Greer, Steve Pennington, Chris Crumbley, Greg Bass, James Waddell, and Robert Clark.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gideons International Organization.
