Forest Daniel Barton II (Dan), 78, of Decatur, AL, passed away on December 1st, 2025. He was born February 4th, 1947, in Endicott, New York, to Harley and Blanche (Russell) Barton.
Mr. Barton is survived by his wife, Dana Barton; children, Garth Duke-Barton (Rebecca), Valeria Barton, Deana Jackson (Brandon), and Michelle Self; grandchildren, Daniel Duke-Barton, Samuel Duke-Barton, Susannah Duke-Barton, Jason Moore, Levi Flick (Mariah), Madison Ricks, Jenae Flick, and Stefan Ricks; and brothers, Ralph Barton and Bruce Barton (Sherry).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Blanche Barton.
Mr. Barton is a retired minister of fifty years. He was also a member of The Stairway Group and celebrated forty years with them.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, December the 12th at Stone River United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 5pm with the service starting at 6pm. The address to the church is 3014 Danville Road SW, Decatur Alabama 35603. Casual dress code is encouraged.
