Arthur Lee was a lifelong member of Dora First Baptist Church; served in the National Guard; was a retired coal miner of 30 years; and because of his deep love for Dora, he served on the Dora City Council for over 30 years. Up until the Fall of 2024, Arthur Lee drove a truck for Sides Furniture which he loved dearly as it allowed him to meet many people that he called friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Taylor, mother, Mary Elizabeth Taylor, and sister, Martha Jane Tuggle.

He is survived by the love of his life of 64 years, Barbara Brasfield Taylor, son, Lee (Kim), daughter, Leesa Taylor Cordell (Darren), grandchildren, Kyle Taylor (Breeanna), Taylor Cordell Hansen (Gianni), Josh Taylor, and Noah Cordell (Ana). Great-grandchildren, Willow Hope Cordell, Maddox Kennedy Cordell, and Leon James Taylor. Special friends Jeremy, Jamie, Pressley and Marrin Edmonds. And a host of nieces, nephews, and friends which he considered family.

Arthur Lee loved spending time with his family and friends and adored his grandchildren coming to his home for loud and chaotic game nights and especially adored the great-grands coming to visit. He also loved going camping in the Smoky Mountains every summer and fall, where he made many friends that he considered family. He also enjoyed the special group of men he had the privilege of having coffee with daily at Jack’s.

The family would like to express our deepest love and gratitude to all of his caregivers at Alabama Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion they provided during this time.
