HUNTSVILLE– Tuesday, April 14 marked an important day for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens we proudly serve. Eleven new deputies officially began their careers today, answering the call to step forward, serve, and protect. This morning, Sheriff Kevin Turner administered the oath of office during a swearing-in ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and members of the Sheriff’s Office, those who stand behind them as they begin this journey.
We are proud to welcome Deputies Owen Blackwelder, Landon Carter, Brandon Crews, Joseph Frazier, Michael Izzo, Tyler
Malone, Ruth Nimmer, Nicholas Pelle, Trenton Plank, Daniel Pressley, and Andrew Williams. Each of these individuals represents the next generation of law enforcement in Madison County.

Three additional deputies will attend the Lateral Academy beginning May 11, 2026, bringing prior experience and knowledge to our agency. The remaining five will attend the full academy in Selma starting May 18, 2026, where they will be challenged, trained, and prepared for the responsibility that comes with wearing this badge.
“This badge is not given, it’s earned every single day,” said Sheriff Kevin Turner. “These men and women have stepped forward to serve something greater than themselves. The road ahead will challenge them, but I have no doubt they will meet that challenge with strength, integrity, and honor. We are proud to welcome them to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.”
Welcome to the team!
