Sompong Chukliang 48100082  Sompong Chukliang, age 78 of Belvidere, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Thailand on April 17, 1947, to the late Tuen and Lup (Smooth) Chukliang. Sompong was a graduate of Maejo University in Thailand. Before leaving Thailand, he retired from teaching and working as a school principal. He was currently employed at Nissan as a bailor in the maintenance department, as well at the Thai Satay Restaurant in Nashville. A master gardener, he also owned a plantation in Thailand that grew rubber trees and grew vegetables at his home in Belvidere that were used at restaurants in the Nashville area. A loving and kind man, he was a devoted member of the Watamphawan Temple in Murfreesboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Udom Chukliang, Adul Chukliang, Wimol Chukliang, and Sangob Chukliang. Sompong is survived by his loving wife, Jo Wilkerson Chukliang of Belvidere; children, Chaiyut Joe (Meredith) Hoffman of Belvidere, Ton Supathep of New York, Pothika (Preecha) Tanyaket of Bangkok, Thailand, Tudtu Chooklieng of Bangkok, Thailand, Nokyung (Bas) Janssen of Netherlands, and Pasuta Sakulpanaruk of Chaing Mai, Thailand; grandchildren, Therme Tanyaket and Thame Tanyaket; brother, Siri Chukliang and sister, Somsong Chukliang, both of Bangkok, Thailand; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Adisak Kanthana, Samapian Praserthsung, and Vinai Klunsorn Visitation will be at 5:00pm on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with services beginning at 5:30pm.
