Gary Tapp age of Russellville passed away March 21,2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 5, 1953 to Kenneth and Myrtle Tapp. Gary was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville. Before he retired, he was a talented mechanic who worked all over, including in places like Iraq. Mechanic work was more to him than just a job, it was a hobby- he enjoyed rebuilding engines and working on classic cars. During his high school years, he enjoyed drag racing and working on tobacco farms. Gary was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing. Family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Russellville, where the memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Chase Dowdy will officiate. Gary is survived by his wife, Marynell Tapp; sister, Lola and Mary Ann; brother, Leroy; step daughter, Carrie Tyree; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Myrtle Tapp; brothers, David and Earl Tapp; sister, Peggy; daughter, Tina; infant son, Gary; and step son, Laren Durfey.
