With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Thelma Inez McNutt, aged 96, of Athens, who left us on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at Limestone Health Facility. Born on May 12th, 1929, in Tennessee, she was the daughter of Wannah and Maude Smith McQueen.
Mrs. McNutt is lovingly remembered by her sons, Russell McNutt and his wife, Connie, and Robert McNutt and his wife, Rebecca. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Adam McNutt and his wife, Leslie, and Daniel McNutt and his wife, Katlyn, and Maggie McNutt. She is also survived by her brother, W.H. McQueen, Jr. and his wife Janelle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur McNutt, her sister, Jean Head, grandchild Katie Mc Nutt, and her great-grandchild, Gabriel McNutt.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mrs. McNutt’s life during a visitation on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:45 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Mike Green, will follow at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. McNutt was a joy to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
