A Visitation for Mrs. Rebecca Prestridge, age 77 of Lineville, will be held on Monday, January 12, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home beginning at 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M.
Mrs. Prestridge passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at her home. She was born in Ashland, a Lineville High School graduate and obtained her Associates degree from Southern Union State Community College. She attended Jacksonville State University for a few semesters, before beginning her work career at South Trust Bank as a teller. She briefly worked as a teacher at Ashland and Hollins Elementary, but worked most of her life as a rural postal carrier for Clay and Randolph counties. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for around 20 years. Mrs. Prestridge enjoyed playing and spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with her husband and their friends. She had the sweetest personality, was forgiving and kind hearted, but was also witty and funny. Mrs. Prestridge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Mrs. Prestridge was survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Prestridge; one son, Marshall Prestridge (Rachael); three grandchildren: Jaiden, Carsen, and Cashten Prestridge; one sister, Susan Yarbrough (James Sr.); one brother, Jeffery Fuller (Christy), all of Lineville; plus other extended family.
Mrs. Prestridge is preceded in death by her parents: Willard Raymond Fuller and Dorothy Jean Moody Fuller.
