William David Brewer ObituaryMr. William David Brewer was born at his  home in Iron City, TN on February 20, 1948, to his parents the late Mr. Elvie Clovis Brewer and Mrs. Lavinia Stults Brewer. During his adolescent years he would grow appreciating and developing a love for the outdoors and attended school in Collinwood, graduating from Collinwood High School with the class of 1967. Afterwards he would bravely and proudly serve his nation, joining the United States Army in 1968 serving two years during the Vietnam War and in 1970 returning to his home in Wayne County. Later Mr. Brewer would meet and marry his wife Mrs. Frances McNeese Brewer and the two would marry June 30, 1972 forever intertwining their hearts and families, together raising their children and building their lives in the Iron City area of Wayne County  remaining married until her passing on January 12, 2023. During his occupational years, he worked as a carpenter building homes and businesses eventually joining the Carpenters Union. He was a long time member of the Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church as he was one of the carpenters which built the building that is still in use today. He also became a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge # 702 in Collinwood proudly serving his lodge and community,  being elevated to “Master Mason” on April 25, 1970. In his leisure time he could be found watching Tennessee Football never missing an opportunity to watch his favorite team take the field, target practicing but those who knew him will remember his deep passion for golfing, a sport he frequently enjoyed as often as time would allow.  However, he held no other moments in life closer to his heart than the moments he spent with his family, friends and the time at home he spent with his beloved dog Max. Mr. William David Brewer passed from this life on December 28, 2025 making his stay on this earth some 77 years, 10 months and 8 days.

 

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter Debra Thrasher (husband Paul Jr.) of Cypress Inn, TN; sons Gregory Risner of St. Joesph, TN, Phillip Risner (wife Regina) of Cypress Inn, TN and Matthew Brewer and Amanda Davis of Cypress Inn, TN; grandchildren Wendy Thrasher, Brandon Thrasher (wife Lee), Amanda Moore (husband Frank), Jason Thrasher (wife April), Joanna Wilkinson (husband Justin), Foryshia Seat  (husband Ben), James Risner  (wife Erica), Deborah Hoagland, Wesley Risner  (wife Jana), Tyler Risner, Kaynen Butler  wife (Alisha), Brooklyn Pulley  (fiancé Nick), Canyon Brewer (fiancé Trinity); 23 great grand children and 2 great great grand children; siblings Donald Ray Brewer of Iron City, TN, Randle Brewer (wife Doris) of Iron City, TN, Thelma Holt (husband Larry) of Cloverdale, AL, Carolyn Phillips (husband Rusty) of Florence, AL, Clovis “Hank” Brewer  (wife Linda) of Waynesboro, TN and Elgina Kelley (husband Ricky) of Waynesboro, TN Dorothy Throgmorton (husband Johnny) of Collinwood, TN; sister in law Maye Brewer of Iron City, TN as well as several nieces and nephews, family members, friends and loved ones.

 

In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Brewer and sister-in-law Elaine Brewer

 

Visitation with the Brewer family will begin Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday December 31,2025 from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church

 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm  at the Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Greg Stults and Ed Burbank officiating, burial with military rites will commence immediately following funeral services at the Macedonia Cemetery in Iron City, TN
