HUNTSVILLE — The Land Trust of North Alabama (LTNA) is pleased to announce that, thanks to the extraordinary support of community members, partners, and donors, the full $300,000 needed to acquire a critical 65-acre property on Green Mountain has been successfully raised.
This important tract will now be permanently protected, securing a key connection within the Land Trust’s expanding River to Gap corridor. The newly conserved acreage links two existing Land Trust parcels, strengthens wildlife habitat, and protects vital water resources across the landscape.
“This achievement reflects the incredible passion our community has for protecting North Alabama’s natural spaces,” said Hallie Porter, Development Director for LTNA. “Every contribution, large or small, helped ensure that this land will remain wild, connected, and accessible for generations. We are deeply grateful for everyone who stepped forward to make this possible.”
The River to Gap vision is a long-term initiative to establish a continuous conservation corridor stretching from the Tennessee River to Blevins Gap. For more than two decades, the Land Trust has worked strategically to protect Green Mountain’s ecological integrity through thoughtful planning and targeted land acquisitions. Securing this 65-acre link represents a significant step toward completing this connected area.
LTNA extends its sincere gratitude to the entire Land Trust family for making this milestone possible and for believing in the power and importance of conservation in North Alabama.
