Betty Ruth Brown Copland

Betty Ruth Brown Copland was born in Florence, AL on September 21, 1942 to  the union of her parents the late Mr. William Columbus Brown and Mrs. Leona Jones Brown. She spent her childhood in the Central Heights, AL area and attended school there. Later in her young adult years she would meet and marry the love of her life Mr. R.D. Copeland and the two would wed on January 19, 1960 forever intertwining their hearts, families and lives. The two worked diligently to raise their children in the admonition of the Lord and with the hard work ethic they also exemplified in their lives. The two would remain married for the next 60 years until his passing on September 10, 2020.   She being a hard worker would spend her occupational years in several different capacities for different companies such as the Brown Shoe company in Savannah, TN , Genesco Boot Factory in Waynesboro, TN ,Angelica Manufacturing in Collinwood, TN and El Rancho Manufacturing in Lutts, TN.  Mrs. Copeland was a deeply spiritually minded Godly woman as she was a member of the Hydes Chapel Church of Christ in Lutts, TN and in her spare time her favorite pastime was reading her bible and deepening her knowledge of her God by working her bible study exercises. Still, she held no other time closest to her heart than the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren

Those left to honor her memory include her children Mary Ann Copeland and finance Doulgas Dawson of Central Heights, AL. Travis Copeland and wife Nora of Lutts, TN; Roy Copeland and wife Brittany of Lutts, TN and Kim Burbank and fiancée Chris Roberson of Savannah; sister Mary Evelyn Copland; grandchildren Christopher Copeland, Tara Wynoka Oliver, Roy Copeland Jr., Misty Roberson, William Richard Burbak II, Ronnie Dale Burbank, Melissa Copeland, Betty Cobb, Dakota Copeland, Breanna Copeland, Adam DeWayne Copeland and Josh Copeland; Mrs. Betty was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and a host of other family members friends and dear loved ones.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son Richard DeWayne Copeland and a daughter Amanda Diane Copeland siblings Donald Douglas ‘Sam” Brown, W.C. “Bud” Brown and Martha Louise Franks

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday November 19, 2025 at the Hydes Chapel Church of Christ in Lutts TN with David Highland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin Tuesday November 18, 2025 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again Wednesday November 19, 2025 from 10:00 am till service time at 1:00 pm all at the Hydes Chapel Church of Christ in Lutts, TN.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Adam Copeland, Josh Copeland, Roy Copeland Jr., Dakota Copeland, Allen Burbank and Kayden Daughtery.
