Billy Earl (Bill) Maness, 93, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on November 12, 2025. Bill was born and raised near Sardis, Tennessee and was the son of Ervin Dean and Zula Scott Maness.

After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, he was introduced to Aileen (Hanks) by his cousin and they soon married and settled in Memphis, TN. In 1960, they moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he began a long career with the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. Huntsville would remain his home and where he and Aileen would raise their three sons.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, and follower of Jesus Christ. He was an active member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years and most recently, Lincoln Church of Christ. He spent many years at little league ballparks and soccer fields, coaching and watching his sons play whatever sport was in season. In his free time, he enjoyed working outside with his hands and managing his farm in West Tennessee. He taught his family many things over the years, most importantly to love with kindness and patience toward others. He will be missed immensely by his family but will always be remembered for his love for Jesus, his generosity, his quiet but strong demeanor, his integrity, his work ethic, and his heart for serving others.

Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Aileen Maness, three sons; Michael Maness (Ginger) of Columbus, GA, Mark Maness (Kristine) of Huntsville, AL, and Roger Maness (Brie) of Atlanta, GA, as well as six grandchildren; Will, Emily, Madelyn, Matthew, Walker, and Abigail. He leaves two sisters, Helen Mullins (Jackson, TN) and Linda Holyfield (Gadsden, TN), and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lois Murphy and Joceil Pryor.

A graveside service will be held at Hampton Cove Cemetery, Sunday at 3:00 PM with Ron Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
