Funeral Services for Mr. Dennis A. Parsons, age 72 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Rick Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Bible Church Cemetery.
Mr. Parsons passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at his home. Mr. Parsons was born in Sylvester, Georgia and had living in Georgia most of his life, with the exception of the last decade where he lived in Clay County. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life, working in construction building and remodeling homes. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, and when he wasn’t involved in construction, enjoyed wood working as a hobby. Mr. Parsons enjoyed spending time and visiting with his family, and was a caring and giving man to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Tapley; one son, Eric A. Parsons (Chrissy) of Colorado; three grandchildren: Damien, Eric Jr., and Alex; 6 brothers: Tim Parsons (Allisyn) of Shinbone Valley, Don Parsons (Glenda), Larry Parsons (Renee), Orrie Parsons, all of Ashland, Henry Parsons (Peggy) of Vienna, Georgia and Otha Parsons (Diane) of Warwick, Georgia, plus a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Grady and Susie Parsons; one brother, Ben Parsons; and two sisters: Thelma Bowen and LaVelda Parsons.
Active Pallbearers will be Brock Walker, Jeremy Parsons, Nick Parsons, Michael Parsons, Dewey Parsons, and Luke Shaddix.
His visitation will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
