Mr. Rodney Lee Ballew, age 66, of Union Grove, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 22, 2025. Born on February 25, 1959, in Marshall County, Alabama, Rodney was the cherished son of the late Bobby Joe Ballew and Iva Jean Aldridge Ballew.
Rodney was a proud high school graduate who continued his education and earned an associate’s degree. He dedicated his career to serving the Marshall County Schools System, working at Union Grove School and more recently at Brindlee Mountain Primary in the maintenance and custodial department. Rodney truly loved his work, forming meaningful connections with both staff and the children he interacted with daily.
A passionate Alabama football fan, Rodney also found joy in tending his lawn, often spending hours on his riding lawnmower.
Rodney is lovingly remembered by his brother, Danny Ballew, and sister-in-law, Laurie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Iva Jean Ballew.
A graveside service will be held at Arab Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, September 25, 2025, with Brother Randy Blakely officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
