Mrs. Lois V. Mitchell, age 88, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was a life-long resident of Rutherford County, TN and a daughter of the late William E. and Alene Curlee Stem. Mrs. Mitchell was a 1955 graduate of Central High School. She began her working career at Life and Casualty in Nashville then finished her career working the front desk at Bud’s Tire. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Science Hill Church of Christ.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her son, Eddie Mitchell and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Chris Mitchell and his wife Amanda, Kevin Mitchell and his wife Shannon, Kayne Gilliland and his wife Meredith, and Christopher Gilliland and his wife Kristina; great grandchildren, Madison, Addie, Aniston, Jaxson, Elizabeth, Cole, and Evie; great great granddaughter, Layla; siblings, Bill Stem and his wife Diane and Linda Sissom and her husband Barney; brother in law, Morris Fann; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Mitchell; brother, Gary Stem; and sister, Jean Fann.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 29, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, September 29, 2025 at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bud Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pall bearers will be Chris Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Kayne Gilliland, Christopher Gilliland, Andy Mitchell, and Mike Fann. Honorary pall bearers will be David Fann, Tim Fann, Keith Brown, Jaxon Mitchell, and Cole Mitchell.
