Imogene Beaty Eberhart, age 91 of Fort Payne, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on January 22, 1934, to the late William Howell Beaty and Mae Bell Smart Beaty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eberhart; and daughter, Donna Eberhart Horne; two sisters, Irene Greenwood and Inez Durham; and one brother, William Lee Beaty.
She is survived by daughters, Renae Darr (Doug) and Gwen McClendon (Trey); son-in-law, Ken Horne; and one brother, Roy Beaty; grandchildren, Christina (Bill) Tomlin, Charles Darr, Heather (Jared) Sigler, Matt (Sarah) Horne, Holli (Sean) O’Kelley, and John (Martyna) McClendon; and eight great-grandchildren.
Miss Imogene was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a joyous grandmother, and enjoyed sharing her love of Jesus with others. She was a long-time member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Adamsburg, and lived life to her fullest by singing in church choirs and musical groups, teaching children’s Sunday School, directing church programs, and playing the piano. It was her passion to serve her church and community.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shaunathan Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Adamsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church or to Adamsburg Cemetery. The family appreciates the staff at Cherokee County Health & Rehabilitation Center, Station 5, in their care of Miss Imogene.
