Mr. Larry Keeton Thompson was born March 09, 1944 at his home in Wayne County, TN to his parents the late Mr. John Thompson and Mrs. Marjorie White Thompson. Larry spent his childhood surrounded by the beauty of nature and learning a great appreciation for the wondrous environment God has created, a love for the outdoors that would last a lifetime. In his young adult years, he met his wife Mrs. Carol Joyce Staggs and the two would forever intertwine their hearts, families and lives on August 07, 1970, choosing Wayne County as their forever home raising their family in the admonition of the Lord as Mr. Larry was of the Baptist faith. He was a hard worker and excellent provider for his family in various capacities such as a Dump Truck Driver, Farmer and Construction worker until his retirement. In his leisure moments he could be found coon hunting, deer hunting, rabbit hunting and raising coon dogs but he held no other moments in his life closer to his heart than the time he spent with his children and especially his grandchildren
. Mr. Larry Keeton Thompson passed from this life on September 15, 2025 in Waynesboro making his stay on this earth some 81 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 55 years Carol Joyce Thompson; son Charlie Lee Thompson (Donna Mae); brother Dwight Thompson (Brenda) all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren Jaggar Gauge Thompson (Katie)and Dustin Henderson (Kassie); great-grandchildren Morgan Henderson and Hannah Henderson; great-great- grandchild Baylor Haddock as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Johnnie Sue Whitsett and grandson Kyler Haddock.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin Wednesday at 11:00 am till 2: pm service time all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC Chapel in Waynesboro, TN.
