Karen entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that touched countless lives.
Karen loved her family with all her heart. She and her beloved husband, Raymond, were married for 38 years and shared a life full of love, laughter, and family. Karen was blessed with a family of her own through marriage. She gained two sons and daughters-in-law, as well as four grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She treasured every moment with them and took great joy in the time she got to spend with them. Also together, Karen and Raymond poured their lives into their nieces and nephews, loving them as if they were their own children. That same love overflowed to her great-nieces and great-nephews, who she cherished as if they were her own grandchildren. Family was at the very center of who Karen was, and her presence will forever be felt in the lives she nurtured.
Karen’s love for her Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. She delighted in sharing about her Savior with others and spent her life serving Him faithfully. For 15 years, she worked as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Falkville, where she touched many lives with her kindness and dedication. Her servant’s heart also led her into mission work, both in her local community and around the world, where she joyfully gave her time and talents to help others.
Karen’s compassionate spirit led her to nursing, serving as a nurse for more than 25 years. Her work extended far beyond the walls of local hospitals; she also spent six months to a year at a time serving as a travel nurse in foreign countries. She loved traveling the world, whether on mission trips, nursing assignments, or simply enjoying quiet trips to the mountains with her husband.
At home, Karen’s love of cooking and catering brought joy to many. She was well known for her delicious food, especially desserts she lovingly made for others. Her meals were more than just food—they were an expression of the deep care she had for people, served with warmth and generosity.
Karen was blessed with a close-knit family. She shared a special bond with her two brothers and two sisters, as well as with her cousins who meant the world to her. Family gatherings were among her happiest times, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved.
Karen will be remembered as a woman of faith, love, and service. Her heart for her family, her Savior, and those around her made her a blessing to all who knew her.
