Margaret Elaine Morring Cross, 86, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, James Cross, where they now smile down on the foundation they built through a lifetime of love, faith, and happiness.
Elaine showed us what true commitment and faith look like, sharing 65 wonderful years with James and raising a beautiful family that will carry on their legacy for generations to come.
Sunday morning breakfasts will never be quite the same. Rather she was rolling out homemade biscuits or making sure there was enough food for everyone, Elaine had a gift for bringing people together. This was just one of many ways James and Elaine gathered their family to break bread, share laughter, and love one another.
To live is to love, and to love is to truly live.
She was preceded in death by husband, James F. Cross; mother, Ada Margaret Schrimsher Morring; father, Murphy Morring.
Surviving are sister, Betty Morring Morgan; brothers, Ricky Morring and Randy Morring; daughter, Kathy L. (Rick) Weaver; sons, James Murphy Cross and Gary W. (Kelli) Cross; grandchildren, Joshua Webster (Nikki), Jared Webster (Emily), Jamie Cross (Kassandra), Bailey Garrett, Trevor Cross, Garrett Cross (Madison); great grandchildren, Samantha Webster, Laken, Trennen and James-Declan Garrett, Annah-Rose Cross, Jaxon Cross, Levi Thomas Webster and Hannah Elaine Webster; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00 PM with Brother Ollie Cooper.
Interment will be in Whitaker Cemetery.
