Albert Aaron Hedden, known by his friends and loved ones as “Al,” passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia at the age of 65. Born on November 5th, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, Al leaves a legacy of Christian faith and was a member at Middle Fayette Church of Christ. Al graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. An airline pilot, he was passionate about aviation and the outdoors, never missing an opportunity to look up and appreciate what was flying overhead, whether bird or plane. He was a long-standing businessman in Fayette County, helping to run and operate Natural Goodness Health Foods for more than 40 years. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his dear friends, watching Saturday College Football and Sunday Golf with his faithful companion, rescued pup Tanner, by his side. Nothing brought him greater joy than seeing and spending time with his grandchildren, who will always know him as “Granddaddy.”
Al was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents Carlyle and Sybil Hedden, his sister Carla Hutto, and his brother-in-law Col. Jeff Denton.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his two sons, Aaron Hedden and wife Hailey, and Seth Hedden and wife Dee; his treasured grandchildren, Ellie and Breck; his brother Eric Hedden and wife Sherry; his sister Julia Denton; his brother-in-law George Hutto; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Al’s life will be honored with a burial service at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville, Alabama on Saturday, August 30th at 11 am. A memorial service will be held in his memory at Middle Fayette Church of Christ in Fayetteville, Georgia on Saturday, September 6th at 1 pm. His family and friends will forever hold him in their hearts, remembering the love, faith, kindness, generosity, humor and passion he shared throughout his life.
