Henry McIntosh.jpg Henry Ladd McIntosh, 65, of Woodstock, Georgia died of lung cancer, on Monday, 21 July 2025 at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Ladd attended Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama where he played football, tennis, he was also a member of the French, Latin, German and Spanish clubs, and was a member of the Student Council. He was admired by all who knew him. He graduated from Coffee High School in 1978, also during his high school years, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. He attended college at Auburn University, where he graduated in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in business. On September 27, 1986, he married Lynn Montez Goodwin, at All Saints Episcopal Church, in Atlanta Georgia, they shared many happy years together, married for just shy of 39 years.

Ladd was predeceased by his parents, James Henry McIntosh, Jr. and Cornelia Ladd McIntosh; uncles, Jack McDonald, George T. Ladd, II and John W. McIntosh; aunts, Carolyn McBride, Harriet Katherine McDonald, Jean McIntosh; cousins, John Edward McDonald III, and Melanie McIntosh. He is survived by his wife, Lynn McIntosh; daughter, Meredith McIntosh; sons, Matthew McIntosh (wife Sara), their children, Marlee, Layne and Connor McIntosh, and Mark McIntosh; brothers, James Douglas McIntosh (wife Lori) and Alan McIntosh; aunt, Anne Ladd, and cousin, George T. Ladd III, Andrew, David, Paul and Joseph McDonald, Ingrid, Matthew and Golson McIntosh, Tallman and Norwood McBride.

The lives of Ladd’s family and friends have all been enriched by his charm, wit, wisdom and guidance. His wife Lynn said he was a kind, gentle, caring husband. Daughter Meredith said he was a lover of music, that he passed down to us, and he was very humble. Son Matt said he was a hardworking, devout father. He did all he could for his family with his time on earth. Son Mark said he had a giant compassionate heart, always checking on and thinking of other people until his final days. Ladd’s childhood friend Forrest Thompson said that Ladd was everybody’s friend, because he was everybody’s friend.

The family acknowledges Ladd’s many friends and their contributions to his life. The family also wishes to thank his final caregivers, Emory Johns Creek Hospital oncology unit, and his hospice nurses Cynthia and Charles.

Memorial service for Ladd will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday, the 6th of September, 2025, at 677 Longshore Drive, Florence Alabama, followed by spreading Ladd’s ashes, all are welcome to come show your love and respect for Ladd and his family.
