Betty Jean Terry Walker, age 76, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, August 10th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Stony Point Church of Christ. The service will follow at 3:00 pm at the church with Brother Brad Adcock officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.D. “Red” and Virginia Terry.
Survivors are her loving husband of 59 years, Leilus E. Walker; son, Lee Walker (Dixie); daughter, Stephanie Davis (Marold); sister, Margaret “Bobbie” Stockton; grandchildren, Brandon Davis (Rebecca), Ashley Smith (Jonathan), Dawsyn Walker, Logan Hill, Ashlyn Threet (Charlie), and Dylan Hill; great-grandchildren, Liam White, Posie Threet, and 4 nieces.
Betty began going to Stony Point Church of Christ when she was 5 years old. She and Leilus got married there when she was 16. They raised their two children there. They and their 2 children obeyed the gospel at Stony Point and later in life, both children had their weddings there. Both of her parents are buried there. When she and Leilus became empty nesters, they committed a lot of their time volunteering to work with the youth, and they took them on numerous outings. They always looked for opportunities to teach God’s word to the youth who they loved spending time with. Then, they began conducting personal Bible studies with hundreds of precious people who they loved so much. Stony Point Church of Christ remained a steadfast part of Betty’s life.
