Richard Lee Moore, age 84 of Albertville passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
He is survived by his wife; Margaret Lovitt Moore, children; Melissa “Missy” Olivia Moore Wilson (Jeff) and David Matthew Moore (Valerie) and grandchildren; Haley Suzanne Moore, Laura Grace Wilson and Noah David Moore. He is preceded in death by his parents; Richard George “Pug” Moore and Mary Pritchett Moore and brother; George Thomas “Tom” Moore.
Richard was born July 28, 1941 in Birmingham, Al. He was a 1959 graduate of Albertville High School, Birmingham Southern College and a 1984 graduate of The University of Alabama with a B. S. in Marketing. He served as president of the Chamber of Commerce in Albertville in 1976. Richard was the owner of Moore’s Sporting Goods in Albertville for 31 years. At different times he would have players and coaches from Alabama and Auburn to come to his store. He enjoyed outdoor sports, woodworking, tennis and traveling.
A celebration of life service will be held at Albertville First Methodist Church at a later date.
