Robert was born on November 15, 1938, in Jasper, Tennessee to Tellis and Evelyn Hall. Robert was a life-long learner, beginning his education in a one-room schoolhouse. He attended Marion County High School and graduated in 1956. Robert went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and later received his Master’s degree from Alabama A&M University. At the age of 70, Robert completed his PhD from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and was featured in the Huntsville Times as one of the oldest to graduate with a PhD.

Robert worked in the field of engineering for many years and later worked as an expert witness throughout the county. He became interested in real estate and began purchasing apartment buildings in the 1980s. This developed into a family business that is still in operation today.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jean Smallwood Hall; three daughters, Lorri Doss (Jack), Cheryl Core (Randy) and Lesley Hall; five grandchildren of which he was extremely proud, Justin Core (Megan), Christopher Allen (Samantha), Tyler Core (Ashley), Caroline King (Thompson), and Jackson Core; and 11 great-grandchildren whom he adored.

Robert lived life to the fullest. He was a Christ follower from a young age and taught many Sunday school classes and served on numerous committees at First Baptist Church. He loved traveling and visited six continents and well over 60 countries. He passed that love of travel to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
