Jerry Donald Whitt, Jr. was born on February 7, 1969, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He passed on July 25, 2025, after living a life that defied expectations and inspired those who knew him. Don attended Giles County High School and went on to study at CAD school, where he pursued his passion for design and mechanics. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Martha Whitt, and is survived by his sister Katie Whitt Dunn and three nieces, Kathleen Dunn Spurgeon, Alexandra Dunn, and Anne-Marie Dunn. He spent his entire life defying all odds, a walking miracle, who could do anything he set his mind to. Even though doctors gave him a limited prognosis at birth, Don surpassed all expectations, facing every challenge with strength, determination, and an unshakable spirit. A lifelong fan of NASCAR and Alabama football, Don’s passion for racing extended beyond the television screen – he was deeply involved in ARCA racing and cherished every moment in the pits alongside fellow racing enthusiasts. He also spent numerous years working in the automotive industry. Whether working for his favorite drivers, cheering them on in the stands, or sharing stories with friends and family, Don lived each day with heart and humor. Don will be remembered for his resilience, his love of life, and his loyalty to the things and people he loved most. He taught us what it means to keep going, even when the odds are stacked high. He is already deeply missed.
