Jean C. Streit, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. A private service will be held for the family with Jean’s grandson, Gregory “Greg” Wempe officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
Jean was a member of York Bluff Baptist Church (formerly First Baptist Church, Sheffield), where she served faithfully in the nursery for many years, and was also a member of the WMU. Jean was also a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and Muscle Shoals District Service League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Glover “Bud” Streit; sister, Evelyn Corbett Beaird; and parents, Louis Browne and Ada Sylvia Parenti Corbett.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Gail Streit Haddock (Billy) and Nancy Streit Wempe (Gregory); sister, Nancy Corbett Qualls; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
