Funeral service for Eddie Akers, 71, will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Akers died on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born January 16, 1954, in Michigan, to Estill Akers and Connie Montgomery Akers.
He was employed by Cerro Wire, prior to his retirement. Eddie loved spending time with his family, he loved his nieces and nephews, like they were his own children. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and during his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, a Marksman M 16 award, and a 2 class M60. He held the Rank of SP4 and was a grade E4. He also loved watching football and his favorite team was the Detroit Lions.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister- Cindy Topash, and three brothers- Estil, Sam, and Kenny Akers.

Sister – Anita Suszylo (Bron),
Brother – Leroy Akers,
Nephews – Isaiah Akers, Chris Suszylo, Joe Topash, and Eric Topash,
Nieces – Nicole Rikard, Holly Suszylo, Crystal Akers, and Melanie Topash.
Pallbearers will be Chris Suszylo, Conner Rikard, Isaiah Akers, Bron Suszylo, Jim Montgomery, and Jimmy Jordan.
