Doris Okerblom passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her residence.
Doris was a beloved soul who touched many lives. She was always there when someone was ill or needed her help. She leaves many fond memories for the family. Though she is gone the love you gave us remains in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Young, parents, Eugene and Florence (Hurley) Hacker, siblings, Dora, Lorene, Cleveland, Lennis, Hazel, Louise, Meathel, Verlon, Berline, Gayleard, and Eva.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Edward Okerblom; children, Wanda Robinson (Tom), Linda Young, Jean Anne Lowie, Edward McReynolds (Rita), and Lynette Gubernick (Mike); grandchildren, Joel, Tammy, Tommy, Laura, Brad, Chad, Jeremy; a host of great-grandchildren, great -great- grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Powell, Nita Bugge (Mike); and several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 06, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 07, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Clay Richardson officiating the service. The burial will be at Dempsey Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Joel Robinson, Tammy Elkin, Bradley Pate, Laura Robinson, Chad Pate, Edward McReynolds, Shane Goolsby, and Dennis Bohannon.
Special thanks from the family to all the friends and family that came to visit and for all the prayers. The family would like to thank Dr, Thompson and Dr. Bradley for the great care they gave to Mrs. Doris and also the time work & care Aveanna Hospice gave our mother.
