Lela Pearl Goodloe Short was born June 6, 1950, to the late Empsie and Earlean Goodloe. She departed this life May 27, 2025. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at the 19th Street Church of Christ.
Pearl was preceded in death by four sisters:Bobbie Jean Goodloe, Irene Thirkill, Della Thomas, and Betty Welch; sister-in-law, Doris Goodloe; niece, Filentia (Shoo Shoo) Goodloe; and nephew, Brandon Goodloe.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory six children: Sheness (Terrence) Bates, Keya Short, Rolanda (Reginald) Goode, Remond (Nikki) Goode, Lakendra (Denarius) Short, and Bradley Short; sister Jessie Mae (Johnny) Cowan; brothers Charles Goodloe, William Goodloe, Robert (Patricia) Goodloe, Roland (Merita) Goodloe, Simon (Virginia) Goodloe, and Empsie (Monita) Goodloe; 14 grandchildren: Jaidah, Makayla, TJ, Bailie, Zane, Haley, Braedon, Jazlynn, Arnie, Rylee, Bra’Dajah, Brayla, Leilah, and Kacen.
She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins as well as two best friends: Carolyn Hughes and Nora Williams.
