Ottis “Mitch” Mitchell, Jr., age 81, of Westpoint, TN passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, owner of Mitch’s Small Engines, and of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Mitchell, Sr. and Gertrude Littrell Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Mitchell of Westpoint, TN; one daughter, Jana Mattox (Terry) of Westpoint, TN; one son, Don Lopp (Betty) of Lawrenceburg, TN; three special grandchildren, Avery, Toby, and Aura Weathers all of Five Points, TN; one brother, Jeff Mitchell of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sisters, Tharon Gray and Peggy Hill both of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers are Jonathan Burnett, Jeremy Lopp, Colt Littrell, Jim Lopp, Justin Mitchell, and Michael Hill.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2025, with Chad Weathers and Danny Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
