Brenda S. “Nana” Cozart, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired transporter for Omni Vision, and of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed taking care of children, pageants, cooking, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Clifton; mother, Denise Coker Hughes; and two daughters, Rita Michelle Cozart and Cricket Cozart.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim “PaPa Jim” Cozart of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Jamie Cozart (Dolores) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Matt Cozart (Joye) of Minor Hill, TN; step-mother, Norma Clifton of Ethridge, TN; three step-brothers, Johnny Jennings of Ethridge, TN, Donald Jennings (Kim) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Leon Jennings (Renee) of Parsons, TN; grandchildren, Tyler Cozart, Blake Cozart, Makenna Cozart, Meah Cozart, Rebecca Staggs, Cody Polk; nine great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Mary Nell Owens.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at United Church on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at United Church at 3:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2025, with David Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
