H.C. Childers, 76, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at Ridgewood Health Care in Jasper, AL. He was born in Red Bay, AL to Oneal Childers and Betty Jean Hardin Childers. He was a police dispatcher for twenty years and worked with the Littleville Police Department. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Masonic Lodge #881 in Littleville, AL.
Services will be Wednesday, April 30, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 11-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Childers; son, Chayne Childers (Misty); grandchildren, Ryan Childers, Grace and Jacob Dill, Caleb and Sam Waddle and Claire Waddle; great-grandchildren, Tayleigh Childers, Tatelyn Childers, Livi Dill and Everette Waddle; siblings, Tammy Scott (Tim); Gary Childers (Renee) and James Childers (Sandy) and daughter-in-law, Danette Waddle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sarah Childers; two sons, Bryan Waddle and Brad Waddle and a brother, Glenn Childers.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Dill, Colton Scott, Brad Childers, Chris Childers, Caleb Waddle, Chris Jolly and Zack Creekmore.
