Earnest Robert Dodd, age 78, of Haleyville, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1946, in South Carolina to Harold and Hattie Dodd. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and “PeePaw”. He was a die-hard Alabama fan. Robert loved horse riding, singing, playing guitar and piano. He was a member of many various singing groups throughout the years. Robert never met a stranger. Visitation will be Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Dime Community. Brother Steve Miles and Brother Brian Hutcheson will officiate. Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Dodd; daughters, Malinda (Ronnie) Jones, Tammy (Ricky) Pruitt; grandsons, Joseph (Tiffany) Pruitt, Andrew (Brittany) Pruitt; granddaughter, Terri Tittle (Jason Garrett); great-grandsons, Grayson, Mason, and Saylor Pruitt; sister, Connie Berry; brothers, Dean, Albert, and David Dodd; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Hattie Dodd; brother, Donald Dodd; and special friend, Brother Joel Hutcheson.
