Bill Griffus, 96, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Itawamba County, MS to Jesse Nelson Griffus and Mary Melvirda Holland Griffus and worked in automotive manufacturing. He was a member and deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was chairman of the cemetery committee.
Services will be Saturday, March 1, 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vina, AL with Bro. Loyd Ray Griffus and Bro. Matthew Haney officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 11-1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by a daughter, Paulette Johnson and son-in-law, Hank Johnson; granddaughter, Angela Collum; great-granddaughter, Allie Craig and great-grandson-in-law, Samuel Craig and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Geneva Griffus and nine brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Danny Joe Elrod, Murvin Elrod, Samuel Craig, Arlie Griffus, Russ Manasco and Bob Baccus.
