Mr. Carl Anthony Carthen Mr. Carl Anthony Carthen was born to the late Eugene and Rosie Carthen on August 20, 1961. He departed this life into eternity on August 29, 2023, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a sibling of five: two brothers and two sisters.

Carl attended Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama and after joined the Job Corps in Brunswick, Georgia. He worked at Redstone Arsenal as a supervisor for a government contractor for the Army for over 20 years. He also worked for Aramark Uniform Service in Decatur, Alabama as a supervisor and American Safety Nover in Huntsville until his death.

Carl memories will be forever cherished by his loving mother, Rosie Mae Carthen of Huntsville, AL and son, Carlos Turner of Decatur, AL; two brothers, Edward Eugene Carthen (Etta) of Huntsville, AL and Mark Pride (Priscilla) of Madison, AL; two sisters, Judith Annette Birt of Huntsville, AL and Melinda Ann Birt of Atlanta, GA; bestfriend and ex-wife, Edith Carthen of Decatur, AL; two stepsons, Roderick Watkins of Decatur, AL and Derrick Watkins of Toney, AL; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other realties and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (15439 Hastings Road, Athens, AL 35813) with Pastor Marshall White officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Carthen will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023, and 8:30 until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
