James Calvin Hall, 76, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. James was born on November 26, 1946, in Tupelo, MS to Frazier Mayo and Sallie Elizabeth Holder Hall. A big-hearted man, James was in the United States Air Force for 4 years and worked in funeral service for many years. James was employed with Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc during the 1980’s and 1990’s and joined the funeral home again in 2019 and could be found “holding the office down on the hill”. He enjoyed singing over the years with The Trailsmen and The Revelations. He was a wonderful Dad (by choice), loved auctions, and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his special friend, Eva Smith; his stepdaughter, Emily Coggin Kelly (Halon); his sister-in-law, Joe Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Walter Hall, Melton Hall, and Robert Hall; and his wife, Sara Hall.
Services will be at 2PM Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Jody Riddle officiating. Visitation will begin at 1PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Plantersville.
