A celebration of her life will be held at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, Mississippi on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM with the service at 3:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Starkville.
Mrs. Hammett was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Lee Hammett, her daughter-in-law, Jane Watson Hammett, and her brother, Donald B. Boyd.
She is survived by her four children, Ronald L. Hammett of West Monroe, Louisiana, Donnie L. Hammett (Beverly) of Starkville, David W. Hammett (Judy) of Starkville, and Susan D. Huber (Rick) of Granbury, Texas, 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
