A service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Mangus, 80, will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Henry Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home.
Marilyn Mangus of Granville, Ohio, formerly of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away on April 13, 2023. She was born on September 17, 1942, to Clarence and Evelyn Lucy Langer, both of whom preceded Marilyn in death. A graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelors degree in journalism, she had multiple careers, including working for the Presque Isle Star Herald newspaper as a reporter in Presque Isle, Maine from 1981-1984, the General Motors Acceptance Corporation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Bluefield, Virginia, 1987-1993, and Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, 2001- 2008. She spent most of her remaining years in Corinth, becoming an active member in the First Presbyterian Church.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Larry, of fifty-eight years; two sons, David (Beth) and Michael (Amy); four grandchildren, Brian (David), Kathryn (David), Isabel (Michael), and Eleanor (Michael); her younger sister, Carol Kneier (John); and her beloved cat, Mosby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church’s Memorial Fund.
