Harvey Wayne Gray – Obituary

Harvey Wayne Gray, 95, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, in Iuka. He was born June 6, 1917. He was the youngest of 14 children to the late James M. Gray and the late Lillie Reed Gray and was the last living member of that family. In 1936, he married Cutah Richardson and they raised 5 children in Fulton where they were married for 63 years until her passing in February of 2000. In 2006, he married Coreese Pardue and moved to Belmont. He oversaw the construction of many bridges in the area working for Paul Anthony Construction Co. and MS Highway Dept. Following Hurricane Camille, he moved to Long Beach, MS, where he started a company restoring and building houses on the Gulf Coast. He was along time member of Fulton Church of Christ, where his family was instrumental in its establishment. He was an original member of the first Fulton Fire Department. He enjoyed doing home repairs, fishing, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 6 years: Coreese Thomas Gray; Daughter – Myra Jones of Austatula, FL; 3 Sons – Wade (Myrna) Gray of Fairview, Robert (Glenda) Gray of Fulton, Archie (Sun Ae) Gray of Melbourne, FL; step-daughter – Patsy (Bruce) Coats of Belmont; Daughter-in-law: Marolyn Bean Gray of Ridgeland, MS; sister-in-laws: Lois Gray of Fulton, Nina Jean Moore of Fulton, Brenda (Jack) Elliott of Red Bay; sister-in-law: Rose Wiska of Detroit, MI; 15 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Father: James M. Gray, Mother: Lillie Gray, 1st Wife and mother of his children: Cutah Gray, Son: Richard Wayne Gray, Great-granddaughter: Lydia Boggan.

Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
