Active Shooter Call At Wilson High School; Authorities Say All Clear

LAUDERDALE COUNTY – The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies responded to call at Wilson Junior High School to a report of a  a possible active shooter at the school. The school is located at 7601 Alabama 17 in Florence. The School was placed on lockdown at the time of the shooter report.

Authorities with the Lauderdale Sheriff’s Office said the call appeared to be a prank and the school the lockdown has been lifted and the school  was given the all clear to resume  daily activities.

There were no victims and no indication that a shooter was present at the school.

This was not the only school in the area to receive a call of a active shooter.  Law enforcement responded to Mae Jemison High School in Huntsville Tuesday morning at around the same time as the call was received at Wilson.
