William “Bill” Allen Eward, 56 of Haleyville passed away on March 2, 2013.
He was born on March 29, 1956 in Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Wilson Chapel Methodist Church for 45 years. He graduated from Banks High School in 1974. We worked for 10 years at Jim Walter Resources on #5 Cupola and was a Superintendent of blast furnace at McWane Cast Iron Pipe Company. He also volunteered for 2 ½ years as a Reserve Deputy for the Winston County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Zamora Shrine Temple and the Odenville Masonic Lodge #705, where he was a 32nd degree Master Mason and past Worshipful Master. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and was a “collector of fine collectibles”.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs from 6-8pm, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Brother Ed Townsend, Brother Jacob Eward and Brother Charlie Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rebecca “Becky” Alene Eward; mother, Martha Simmons; son, Jacob Warren (Dusty Michele) Eward; daughter, Charity Lynn Barton; brother, James Patric Eward; he was paw paw to 8 grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth, Chloe Lynn, Anna Grace, Heaven Leigh, Christopher Blake, Abagail Rae, Natalie Kay and Camden Greg.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Wayne Eward; father, Max Warren Eward; grandparents, Thomas and Florence Eward, and Garland and Edith Powell; sister, Constance Ruthanne Eward; brother Robert Thomas Eward; and son in law Christopher Barton.
