Tillie Landers, age 83, of Muscle Shoals, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, from
noon-2, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with Brother David Dale and Brother Charlie James officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Landers loved Ole Glory, red, white and blue. She was past District President VFW Auxiliary, VFW Aux. 4919 President, VFW Aux. 4919 Chaplain where she held office for 20 years and was VFW Aux. Veterans Hospital Chairman. She was a member of the Military Order of the Cootie and served as Sr. Vice President and Chaplain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Odell Landers; her son, Howard Landers; and great-grandson, David Allen Boggus.
Survivors include her children, Marvin Landers, Jimmy Landers (Margaret), Marie Landers, Evelyn Cameron (Curtis), Vicky Boggus (David); sister, Dorothy Stocklin; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Cutter Landers, Dewayne Landers, Curtis Cameron III, Jamie Landers, Jason Hinton and Joe Boggus.
Honorary Pallbearers are Timothy Landers, Leonard Striet, Bill Nelson, Tom Rogers and Oneal Brewer.
Mrs. Landers would like to express thanks to Helen Keller HealthCare, housekeeper, nurses, patient care tech, charge nurse on the third floor, all doctors and all the girls at Muscle Shoals Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
